Veronika is an attorney as well as trademark and patent attorney practicing since 2009. Her concentration area comprises trademarks and service marks, industrial designs, computer programs, data bases, and IC layout designs.
She represents clients to protect their trademark rights before the Chamber for Patent Disputes of Rospatent (Russian PTO), courts, law enforcement authorities, Federal Antimonopoly Service, and Federal Customs Service, and handles legal proceedings relating to protection of trademark and other IP rights in courts and arbitrazh (commercial) courts.
Veronika is also an experienced specialist for arranging and implementing a full registration process for trademarks, computer programs and data bases, from preparing and filing applications through obtainment from Russian and foreign PTOs of a final document certifying the grant of legal protection. Advising on issues relating to registration of IP rights and transactions with the WIPO International Bureau and abroad is one of the key areas of Veronika’s practice.
Performance of similarity searches and providing expert trademark and patent attorney’s opinions as well as assistance in obtaining patents for industrial designs are also an intrinsic part of her work. She also handles renewals of TM registrations and making amendments to the RF National Trademarks and Service Marks Register and helps obtain required excerpts from the Register.
Veronika performs expert assessment of IP assignment agreements and advises clients on various legal aspects of IP laws.
Defended the trademark rights of a shopping center owner in a dispute with a patent troll.
Overcame the Russian PTO refusal of registration of a big German ophthalmologic manufacturer’s trademark having been being in use over 10 years in the Russian market, as well as defense of the same client against a non-use cancelation claim filed by the owner of a trademark cited by the Russian PTO.
Represented a Russian inventor in his dispute with a big foam glass factory.
Overcame the Russian PTO refusal of granting legal protection to an Italian outer clothing manufacturer’s international trademark registration.
Advised a customer for development of a full-length film script to secure its interests.
