Kristina Timoshenko: Employee’s Refusal to Work Overtime Cannot Qualify as a Disciplinary Offence!*
On February 20, 2018 Kristina Timoshenko Attorney-at-Law of AGP Employment group conducted a webinar “Working Day with Unlimited Duration and Overtime. Payment and Documenting in Accordance with New Regulations”. The said online event was arranged by Kadrovoe Delo, a personnel management magazine which holds training events within the scope of the HR Higher School project in which Christina Timoshenko acts as an expert and one of lead speakers.
Amendments to the RF Labor Code, defining more specifically its regulations concerning working day with unlimited duration and part-time work, enacted last summer, were at the focal point of the webinar. Attorney-at-Law Christina Timoshenko reminded during the webinar about regulations for assignment of overtime work and weekend and holiday work and documenting thereof and told about amendments introduced in the RF LC, relating to employee compensation. After the webinar Christina answered questions from the audience and offered practical recommendations.
What made the subject of the webinar especially acute is that the above referenced amendments concerning labor regime and compensation, eliminated ambiguities that had manifested themselves in legal precedents. Therefore, observance of new regulations will help employers avoid disputes with employees and inspecting authorities’ claims.
