Dmitri Lubomudrov Spoke at the International Arbitration: Trends and Cases Conference

AGP partner Dmitri Lubomudrov moderated the International Arbitration Practice Trends session held at the International Arbitration: Trends and Cases conference on March 22, 2018.

Apart from that Dmitri delivered a report on Improvement of Rules and Regulations of International Arbitration as exemplified by the novelty rules and provisions of the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the RF ICC effective as of 2017.

Dmitri dwelled in detail on the key substantive novelties, which have been triggered not so much by the recent reform of the Russian arbitration law as by the rules updating stemming from the ICAC experience and major global trends in development of rules and regulations of international centers for institutional international arbitration, such as:

  • provisions on multiple parties and claims;
  • summary proceedings;
  • rules of conduct of representatives;
  • detailed elaboration of the provisions on preparation for arbitration proceedings;
  • prima facie jurisdiction test, etc.

Dmitry also told the audience about his hand-on experience in handling international arbitration proceedings from the perspective of opportunities afforded by the ICAC new rules and provisions to parties of arbitration.
