On November 15, 2024 the sixth award ceremony in the intellectual property sphere and giving prizes to winners was held. Apart from its principal objective, namely determining the best specialists and organizations, who have achieved success in the IP sphere, this award is also aimed at the development of positive competition among its ambitious and talented participants.
It is important that on the sidelines of the principal award a Students’ Award in Biopharmaceutical Industry was presented. Competition entries for this award were accepted from students of specialized medical and pharmaceutical colleges of Russia on topical issues associated with innovative personalized solutions in biomedicine and development of high-technology medical chemistry and pharmaceutical engineering, which is indicative of the great demand for those IP areas.
Year by year, the intellectual property award gains momentum and remains on the top of the agenda. This year the award attracted a wide diversity of representatives of big and small businesses, startups and universities. The Director of Federal State Budgetary Institution Federal Institute for Industrial Property Mr. O.P. Neretin noted that half of applications for registration filed this year with the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) came from universities. This once again shows that the future belongs to young talents.
Elena Gorodisskaya, a Partner, attorney-at-law and the Leader of the Intellectual Property Practice team at AGP officially handed the award established by Merlion, a Russian group of companies, in the IP Disputes: Winner of 2024 nomination, which from one year to another proves its leading position in various nominations of the IP-Awards. Along with Elena our law firm was represented by Nikolai Uzhegov, a lawyer and trademark attorney of the Intellectual Property Practice team and Mikhail Eltukov, a lawyer of the IP Practice team.
When handing the award to the winner, Elena emphasized:
“It is important to mind not only what you are protecting but how you are protecting as well, to demonstrate ingenuity and creativity in searching for the ways of protection of your clients’ interests”.
